Samuel N. 'Sam' Rico, Jr.

Samuel N. ‘Sam’ Rico, Jr., 62, of Dewey Avenue, New Castle, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Edison Manor Nursing Home in New Castle. He was born May 9, 1951 in New Castle, a son of Sam Rico, Sr. and the late Esther (Stone) Rico. Mr. Rico worked for Rockwell International for 5 years. He also was an ambulance attendant for the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Ambulance Service for many years. He was a member of the Duke's Club and enjoyed music, water skiing, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his father, he is survived by one son, Michael Palkovitch and his wife Val of Bessemer, one sister, Janet Schepp and her husband Anthony of Palm Harbor, FL, two grandchildren, Scarlet and Xander Palkovitch, and a niece, Kayla Schepp.

Private Blessing Services will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Father William Siple of Mary Mother of Hope Church will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
