George J. Manes, 86, of Rich Avenue, Hillsville, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. He was born July 19, 1927 in New Castle, a son of the late John and Constantino (Vitale) Manes. Mr. Manes worked at Bessemer Cement in maintenance for a number of years. He was an Army veteran of the World War II and Korean Era.
He is survived by one niece, Connie Pauline and one nephew, Chuck Lombardo.
He was preceded in death by his brother Angelo Manes, his sister Christine Lombardo, his sister Grace Manes, and his sister Florence Manes.
Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
