Minnie Jenkins Ratkovich

Minnie Jenkins Ratkovich, 89, of Haven Nursing Home, formerly of E. Washington St., New Castle, died Wednesday afternoon, December 10, 2008 at Haven Nursing Home. She was born February 14, 1919 in Forrestville, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Tony and Mary (Cacchione) DeAngelo. Mrs. Ratkovich retired from Reliable Luggage after working on the assembly line for over 20 years. She enjoyed being a homemaker and baking pies and cakes for her family and friends.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Marino of New Castle, PA, one brother, Lewis Eugene Angelo of Rockville, MD, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Umberto, Actorine, James, and Arthur DeAngelo, and six sisters, Florence Mathieson, Beulah Soday, Lena DeAngelo, Leonilda Belancio, Viola Guy, and Melfa Phillips.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, 2008 from 4 pm to 6 pm.

A Blessing Service will be held Friday, December 12, 2008 at 6:00 pm at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.
