Betty Jane Oliphant

Betty Jane Oliphant, 83, of Overlook Medical Center, formerly of Fairmont Ave., New Castle, died Thursday morning, December 18, 2008 at Overlook Nursing Home in New Wilmington. She was born November 3, 1925 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late William and Luella (Fury) Cooper. She was married to Cecil D. Oliphant who died January 24, 1977. Mrs. Oliphant retired from the Johnson Bronze after 38 years as a Filer. She also worked at St. Francis Hospital and Shenango China. Mrs. Oliphant was a member of the Cliffton Flats Alliance Church, the Blair Foundation and the First Presbyterian Church Senior Citizens Group.
