Josephine H. Winter

Josephine H. Winter, 102, of 13th Street, West Pittsburg, died Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Avalon Nursing Center in Taylor Twp. She was born December 29, 1912 in Evans City, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (Cappatt) Nerti. She was married to the late John P. Winter who died June 22, 1987. Mrs. Winter was a member of the Holy Cross Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid baseball fan and St. Louis Cardinals fan and she enjoyed going to the casino. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by two children, Phillip A. Winter and wife Mary Jane of West Pittsburg, and Regina M. Senchak and husband Gerald of West Pittsburg, one brother, Philip Nerti of Wampum, two sisters, Betty Miller and Shirley Bessell, both of West Pittsburg, two grandchildren, Alicia DeRosa and husband Michael and GJ Senchak and wife Lori, and four great grandsons, GJ Senchak, III, Zachary Senchak, Nicholas DeRosa and Matthew Senchak.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Patsy, Joseph, and Victor Nerti, and four sisters, Theresa Mozzocio, Jenny Stelter, Mary Nerti, and Rose Nerti.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 5 PM to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Father Bill Siple of St. Vincent de Paul Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
