Lena Book

Lena Book, 85, of Marlboro St., New Castle, died Thursday afternoon, April 2, 2009 at her home in New Castle. She was born July 23, 1923 in West Pittsburg, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Angelo and Antoinette (Sanfelice) Formica. She was married to Carlton W. Book, Sr. who died on August 15, 1987. Mrs. Book was a waitress at Jimmy's Diner in New Castle for many years.

She is survived by one daughter, Tracy L. Drabenstadt and her husband Ronald of Glen Hope, PA, one son, Mont R. Book of New Castle, PA, two grandchildren, Kelly T. Nelson and Crystal M. Book and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Carlton W. Book, Jr., four brothers, Albert, James, John Formati, and Ralph Formica and two nephews that she raised, William E. Book, Jr. and Robert Book.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Friday, April 3, 2009 from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 3, 2009 at 1:30 pm at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Matthew Bupp will be officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in New Castle.
