Antonette ‘Nettie’ Platt, 77, of W. Ranney Avenue, died Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. She was born in New Castle, PA, on February 21, 1949, a daughter of the late Michael and Bessie (Varvette) Panella. Nettie married William J. Platt, Sr., on September 21, 1968, he survives at home. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish- St. Vitus. Nettie worked in the Deli at Ralph’s Supermarket for 10 years and then Heidi’s Day Care for 5 years. She loved playing Bingo and enjoyed playing in and watching the World Series of Poker and was a member of a card club for 15 years. Above all she loved spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren play sports, and her dog, Sassy.

In addition to her husband, she was also survived by two sons, William J. Platt, Jr., and his wife Ashlee and Michael A. Platt both of New Castle, four grandchildren, Tanner Platt, Hallie Platt, Mason Platt, and Emma Platt, and two brothers, Anthony ‘Bozo’ Panella and Steven Ropchak.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Michael, and Norman Panella, and three sisters, Anna Cugini, Jeanie Stephenson, and Betty McCormick.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 5 PM to 8 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A blessing service will be celebrated Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Deacon John Carran will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
