Barbara A. Aromando, 85, of Sumner Avenue, died Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Quality Life Services in New Castle. She was born on October 13, 1941, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Robert W. and Lucy (Tommelleo) Rainey. Barbara was married to the late Patsy A. Aromando, Sr., who died December 12, 2025. Mrs. Aromando was a teacher at New Castle Elementary School, retiring after 35 years. She enjoyed shopping, going on cruises, traveling, and loved going to the beach. Above all, she loved her friends and family.

She is survived by two sons, Patsy A. Aromando, Jr., and his wife Paula, and Christopher A. Aromando and his wife Shannon, three grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan, and Gianna, one brother, Nicholas Rainey and his wife Barbara, and two sisters, Anna Marie Neve and her husband Chet, and Mary Key Bruening and her husband Michael.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 23, 2026, from 2 PM to 4 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A blessing service will be celebrated Friday, October 23, 2026 at 4:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Ben Barr will officiate.
