Barry E. Gwin, 75, of Butler Avenue, died Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at his residence in New Castle. He was born on December 7, 1949, in New Castle, a son of the late John and Ellen (Putt) Gwin. Barry was the owner and operator of Starwood Restaurant for 45 years. He was a lineman for Bell Telephone, retiring after 35 years. He was also a Veteran of the Army National Guard. Barry loved the city of Pittsburgh, and was an avid sports fan, especially the Steelers and Pirates. He enjoyed drinking Martinis and traveling, in particular the trip to Paris he went on with his daughter. Above all, Barry loved spending time with his daughter and granddaughter.

He is survived by one daughter, Asha A. Gwin and her partner Tanner Clark of New Castle, one granddaughter, Kinsley Clark, four brothers, John Gwin, Larry Gwin, Chuck Gwin, and Ron Gwin, and one sister, Nancie Rowe, and he was also very loved by his Starwood family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the William F. DeCarbo & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
