Delores Monstwil

Delores Monstwil, 88, of Elmwood Street, died Thursday, October 8, 2026, at her residence in New Castle, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 19, 1937, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Guiseppe and Concetta (Conti) Micco. Delores was married to the late Alexander S. Monstwil, who died August 31, 2018. Mrs. Monstwil was a member of Holy Spirit Parish. She worked at Neisner’s 5 & Dime for a number of years. Mrs. Monstwil enjoyed cooking, baking, and ceramics. Above all, she loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Toni Ann Yasher and her husband Ronald, Denise Palus and her husband David, Kenneth Monstwil and his wife Marsha, and Matthew A. Monstwil and his wife Stefanie, twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one brother, Patsy Micco.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by six brothers, James, Anthony, Dominick, Alexander, Joseph, and Carmen Micco, and three sisters, Carmella Pallerino, Nancy Clause, and Madeline Passerrello.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 12, 2026, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Parish- St. Mary Church on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 10:30 AM. Father Ben Barr will officiate. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery.
