Elaine R. Sokevitz

Elaine R. Sokevitz, 81, of Old Route 422, died Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Select Speciality Hospice in Natrona Heights. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on January 27, 1944, a daughter of the late George and Rita (Kiesel) Hochendoner. She was married to the late Ronald T. Sokevitz, who died September 24, 2009. Mrs. Sokevitz worked in security at Troutman’s and then was a cashier for Food Arena and Sparkle Market for a number of years. She was an Army Brat, traveling to 32 different countries, and graduating from Paris American High School in Paris France. In addition to her love for traveling, Elaine also loved her dog, Toby, and above all, her family. She also enjoyed going to the casino.

She is survived by four children, Laurie L. Hauck and her husband Greg of Portersville, PA, Ronald W. Sokevitz of Willard, OH, Karen L. Sokevitz of Portersville, PA, and Michael B. Sokevitz and his wife Marcy of New Middletown, OH, six grandchildren, Shane, Brandon, Brock, Logan, Rylee, and Cadi, five great-grandchildren, Adriana, Siena, Justin, Liam, and Nolan, and one great great-granddaughter, Fiona.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Hochendoner, and two grandchildren, Courtney and Justin Stone. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM, at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A funeral service will be celebrated Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Saints Philip and James Cemetery.
