Frederick J. Droeder, Sr., 93, of W. Wabash Avenue, died Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, OH. He was born on October 22, 1931, in New Castle, PA, a son of the late Frederick and Helen (Krzos) Droeder. He was married to the late Rose M. (Lombardo) Droeder, who died February 2, 2025. Mr. Droeder was a United States Army Veteran serving stateside during the Korean War Era. He worked for Rockwell Axel for 20 years, Allied Movers for 3 years, and retired from Universal Rundell after 5 years. He enjoyed hunting and fixing cars. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending all of their sports and school activities.
He is survived by one son, Frederick J. Droeder, Jr. and his wife Tricia of New Castle, four grandchildren, Gina Van Eman and her husband Charles, Elyse Rice and her husband Darrian, Charlie Richards and her husband Evan, and Mara Droeder, and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Gerald J. Droeder.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 29, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A Liturgy Outside of Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 29, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
