Helen Tokar

Helen Tokar, 82, of Star Drive, died Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. She was born in Volant, PA, on July 9, 1944, a daughter of the late Paul and Frances (Zelinski) Tokar. Helen worked as a waitress at various area restaurants in her early 20's and worked at Lark Enterprises for a number of years. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and playing the PA Lottery.

She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia A. Martin Nixon, one grandson, Austen Nixon (Amie), two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Patty Lyautey, and numerous nieces and nephews. She shared a special bond with Roxanne and Randy McConahy.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, Eric Martin, one brother, Robert Tokar, and three sisters, Betty Phillips, Stella McCluskey, and Maryann Updegraff.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM, at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate.
