John R. ‘Moose’ Allen, 69, of N. Ray Street, died Friday, May 10, 2024, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born in Clendenin, WV, on November 19, 1954, the son of the late Delbert and Cecelia (Walters) Allen, Sr. Mr. Allen enjoyed fishing, Demolition Derby’s and Fairs, and was an avid football, wrestling, and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
He is survived by four brothers, Delbert E. Allen, Jr., of New Castle, Charles E. Allen of Prospect, Phillip J. Allen and Kenneth W. Allen both of New Castle, and one sister, Mary Jane Hedglin of MD.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Iris V. Grandy, Susan E. Leisure, and Dolores Jean Allen.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 5 PM to 6 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 6:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate.
