John S. LaRocca

John S. LaRocca, 71, of Delaware Avenue, died Sunday, May 18, 2025, at his residence in New Castle. He was born on March 18, 1954, in New Castle, the son of the late Leonard and Antoinette (Chiero) LaRocca. John married Gretchen C. (Reid) LaRocca on December 31, 1991; she survives at home. Mr. LaRocca was a cook who worked for Edward’s Restaurant, Sadie’s, and Avalon Nursing Center. He loved cooking, golfing, and New Castle sports. Mr. LaRocca was also an avid Cincinnati Bengals and Reds fan.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two children, Megan C. LaRocca of New Castle, and Christopher L. LaRocca and his wife Britney of Richman, VA, three grandchildren, Mila LaRocca, Bruno LaRocca, and Aleia Smith, and two sisters, Mary C. Hoback of Seattle, WA, and Beverly Hutchison of Indian Trail, NC.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. The funeral service will be celebrated Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Brother John Rossi will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
