John E. McCormick, Jr.

John E. McCormick, Jr., 60, of New Castle, PA, passed away at his home surrounded by family, on May 5, 2026, after a long battle with FTD. He was born May 27, 1965, in New Castle, PA, the son of Patricia (DeLisio) Macklin and the late John E. McCormick, Sr., his mother survives in New Castle. John is survived by his beloved wife Michelle (Piccuta) McCormick with whom he shared 35 years of marriage. He was a proud and loving father of two sons, John Andrew McCormick (Natalie) and Brent Edward McCormick. Also he is survived by his mother-in-law, Nikki Piccuta, one brother, Mark McCormick, sister-in-law, Mary Gay and her husband Gary, and his brother-in-law, Andy Piccuta and his wife Ray Aiken, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He retired from Verizon as a Splicer after 28 years. John was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Notre Dame Fan. He enjoyed bowling and golfing with his friends. He especially loved the years of coaching his son's baseball teams. 

Private services will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
