Joseph L. Holmes, Sr.

Joseph L. Holmes, Sr., 58, of Arkwood Avenue, in Columbus, OH, died Monday, August 11, 2025, at his residence. He was born in New Castle, PA, on June 16, 1967, a son of the late Donald and Leona (Palmer) Holmes, Sr. Joseph married Lauren M. (Hadgkiss) Holmes in April of 2017, she survives at home. Joseph loved spending time with his children and family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Joseph L. Holmes, Jr., Lesane J. Holmes, and Donald F. Holmes, all of New Castle, and A’Rayah M. Holmes, of Columbus OH, one step-son that he raised as his own, Alfonso Campbell, two grandchildren, Nina and Xavier, four brothers, Clayton Jones, James Jones, Anthony Alexander, and Donald Holmes, Jr., and three sisters, Danita Wise, Marlene Currie, and Caprice Holmes.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lisa Holmes and Jamie Alexander.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM at William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. The funeral service will be celebrated Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 4:00 PM. Pastor James E. Holmes will officiate.
