Loretta Glassel, age 76, of Grove City, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025. Born on May 25, 1949, she lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep devotion to her family, and a kind, steady presence that will be dearly missed.
Loretta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nathan Glassel; her parents, Alice Emma McCormish and James M. Zook; her maternal grandparents, Thomas McCormish and Emma Luella Carr McCormish; her paternal grandparents, James Zook and Mary Ellen Hartzler Zook; her brothers O. Rick Smith and David Zook; and her sister, Katie Zook.
She is survived by her cherished son, Robert Glassel; her nephew, Samuel McClimans; and her beloved nieces, Barbara McClimans and Tammy McClimans. Loretta’s family was the center of her world, and she found great joy in spending time with them.
For many years, Loretta worked at Grove City College, where she made lasting friendships and was known for her warm, dependable spirit. In her free time, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—especially bingo nights and the laughter and love shared during family gatherings.
A private memorial will be held at a later date to honor Loretta’s life. Her family is comforted in knowing she is reunited with those she loved and missed so dearly.
