Merry Kay (Olescyski) Rozzi, 77, formerly of Northview Avenue, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026, at The Grand Residence at Upper St. Clair, surrounded by her loving children.
Born on December 20, 1948, to the late Joseph “Goose” and Margaret “Peg” Olescyski, Merry Kay had an adventurous upbring on Pine St. with her older siblings Sherry and Ron. She graduated from New Castle High School in 1966 and began working at Jameson Hospital. Merry Kay went on to work at Liberty Mutual for 30 years, where she made lifelong friends and memories.
On October 6, 1973, Merry Kay married the love of her life, Anthony Rozzi, and settled into her most proud accomplishment of being a devoted mother and housewife. The home she established was warm and welcoming, especially to her children’s friends, whom she was always willing to spend time with, driving them to and from various activities and hang outs.
Merry Kay possessed a youthful spirit and enjoyable sense of humor. She loved music, dancing, and most of all, spending time with her six grandchildren. Nothing gave her more joy than her family.
Merry Kay is survived by her children Drew (Michelle) Rozzi of McMurray, PA and Lyndsey (Arthur) Palmiere of Pittsburgh, PA, her grandchildren Anthony, Luciano, Eloisa, and Christopher Rozzi and Maetta and Ruby Palmiere, and her sister Sharyn Lyn Olescyski.
She was preceded in death by Anthony, her husband of 51 years, her parents, Peg and Goose, and her brother, Ron.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM at William F. and Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave. New Castle, PA. A Blessing service will be celebrated on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 12:00 PM, at the Willam F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
