Robert L. Murin, Sr.

Robert L. Murin, Sr., of Hickory Township, New Castle, PA, formerly of West Pittsburg, PA, passed away on August 21, 2026, with his family by his side. Born October 1, 1944, in Imperial, PA, to the late Martin Murin and the late Dorothy Virginia Crowley Murin.

Robert served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966. He worked for Goodyear Tires in Imperial before moving to West Pittsburg to work at Alray Tire and E.J. Williams, before retiring in 2005. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary A. Murin, two daughters, Mary E. Johnson (Kenny) and Bobbi Lynn Baxter (Bob) of New Castle, PA, and one son, Dale M. Murin (Karie) of Wampum, PA. Also surviving, include eight grandchildren, Curtis Marlow Jr., Leonard ‘Lenny’ Jurina, Jr., Justin Jurina, Kayla Butchelli (Mike) and Ashley Murin and 23 great-grandchildren, Tyler Savage, Kaycie Jurina, Zachary Jurina, and Ginny Butchelli, one brother, James Murin, and two sisters, Diane Adams and Jane Kirkpatrick.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Robert L. Murin Jr., and Daniel M. Murin, and a granddaughter, Nicole J. Marlow, as well as four brothers and four sisters.

With respect to Robert’s wishes, there will be no services. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Sincere gratitude to UPMC Hospice and our sister, Mary, for taking care of him during his final days. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William F. & Roger M.
