Stephen D. Mitchell

Stephen D. Mitchell, 55, of New Castle, died Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at UPMC Jameson in New Castle. He was born on May 14, 1971, in New Castle, a son of the late Morris and Essie (Hicks) Mitchell, Sr. Steve worked at UPMC Jameson Hospital as the Supervisor of Janitorial Services. He loved golfing, fishing, and above all, spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren.

He is survived by seven children, Stephen D. Mitchell, Jr. (Cassandra Rozzi), Marquette Mitchell, Thaemon Mitchell, Mekhi Mitchell, Nigan Mitchell, Maiorie Baxter-Mitchell, and Avelynn Baxter, two grandchildren, Kyler Scott Mitchell and Stephen D. Mitchell, III, two brothers, Morris Mitchell, Jr., and Edward Mitchell, and one sister, Tiffaney Gish.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded by one sister, Marilyn Mangino.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 12 PM to 2 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A funeral service will be celebrated Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Pastor Alonzo Waters will officiate.
