Thelma R. Tuscano Mangino, 95, of E. Washington Street, died Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Quality Life Services in New Castle. She was born on April 23, 1931, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Lostracco) Dantonio. Thelma was owner of Pizza Castle Pizza Shop in New Castle. She was well known for her delicious pizza and pizza greens. Thelma worked for H & R Block as a tax preparer for 5 years, Dr. Linganna’s office as a dictator for 5 years, and then worked in medical records at UPMC Jameson Hospital. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish- St. Vincent de Paul and was a member of the Holy Rosary Society. She also designed and published a cookbook for St. Lucy Church. Thelma loved to cook, especially cavatelli and ravioli, and cleaning. Above all, she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, they were her life.
She is survived by three children, James Tuscano and his wife Trish of Columbiana, OH, Michael Tuscano and his wife Christine of Greensboro, NC, and Kimberly Ferrese and her husband Craig of New Castle, PA, six grandchildren, Jessie Tuscano, Carli Conner (Christopher), Acacia Ferrese, Lauren Tuscano, Amanda Leonard (Austin), and Lexie Ferrese, one great-grandson, Colson Conner, and one brother, Pete Dantonio of North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, James Tuscano, who died January 11, 1967, and Charles Mangino, who died March 8, 2013, two brothers, John Dantonio and Eugene Dantonio, and four sisters, Helen Cialella, Virginia Pallerino, Yolanda DiBernado, and Phyllis Nerti.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 3, 2026, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Holy Spirit Parish- St. Vitus Church. Father Aaron Kriss will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
