William J. Briggs, 84, of Reis Street, died Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Quality Life Services in New Castle. He was born on April 23, 1942, in New Castle, a son of the late Albert and Helen Briggs. Mr. Briggs worked at RC Taylor Home Improvement as a roofer, retiring after 45 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and spending time with his great-grandson.

He is survived by one daughter, Michelle M. Shoaff of New Castle, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two nephews, and one niece, Melissa Stanton.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Wojciechowski, one brother, Albert Briggs, and one sister, Dory Briggs.

There are no services scheduled at this time. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
