William “Bill” Hall Stoner, Sr., 78, of Frew Mill Road, died Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, PA. He was born on July 2, 1946, the son of the late LeRoy and Myra Stoner. Bill Stoner married Susan M. (Schrantz) Stoner on February 8, 1969; she survives at home. Bill was a United States Marine Veteran, serving from October 28, 1965 to October 29, 1968. He served in the Vietnam War and earned a Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. He worked for Mesta Machines for 10 years and then retired from Mathews Conveyers after 22 years as an installer. He was a member of the American Legion Post 343 and was the Scout Master for the Boy Scouts for a number of years. Bill was also an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time outside.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two children, William H. Stoner, Jr., of New Castle, and Billie Jo (Stoner) McDonald, her husband Jonathan with their two daughters Katherine and Rachel of Farmington, NY. Bill also is survived by four brothers, LeRoy Donald Stoner and his wife Ginger of New Castle, Edward Stoner and his wife Anne of New Castle, Gary Stoner and his wife Katherine of NM, and Robert stoner and his wife Shuntae of MI, and two sisters, Kathy Ash of West Pittsburgh, and Shirley Germani and her husband Pat of New Castle, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Stoner.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Funeral services will be celebrated Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 4:00 PM. Deacon Charles Tillia from Harmony Baptist Church will officiate. The burial will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
