Winifred Murphy

Winifred 'Winnie' Murphy, 79, of Wilmington Road, died Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Jameson Nursing Care Center. She was born on March 9, 1947, in New Castle, a daughter of the late William and Marie (Cross) Murphy. Winnie worked at Lark Enterprises in New Castle, PA and in New York for 15 years. She enjoyed playing bingo, word searches, and sewing. Above all, she loved watching all of her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by one sister, Ruth E. Nestorek, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, William J. and John C. Murphy.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 5 PM to 6 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A funeral service will follow visitation at 6:00 PM in the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
